State Consultation Program
The Rhode Island Department of Health's Occupational Safety and Health Consultation Program offers a free professional consultation service to assist employers with safety surveys, health hazard evaluations, and engineering controls through the Division of Occupational Health and Radiation Control's Occupatonal Safety and Health Program. This program provides management with a confidential assessment of compliance with OSHA regulations and aids businesses in correcting unsafe conditions. This is not an enforcement program. Rather, it allows businesses to correct serious hazards identified by an evaluation within a mutually agreed upon period of time, helping to improve workplace safety while reducing exposure to penalties for non-compliance.
